Lovers In Love
© 2009 Martha Ann Brooks
The weather is turning a little bit colder as autumn slips round the bend
Outside there’s moonlight, inside there’s firelight
Warming me and my friend
Loved and adored, more precious than breath
Everything just like we planned
We go through this life husband and wife
Lovers in love ‘til the end
Springtime is over but the memory’s fair, a treasure grown richer with time
Summer was a wild ride, I’m positive we tried
To live it with reason and rhyme
Your gifts I can’t number, your depth has no end
I need just the touch of your hand
To go through this life husband and wife
Lovers in love ‘til the end
We lay by for winter it’s on the way sure as summer brings fall
Never fearful of unknowns not feeling alone
We’ve had a good glimpse of it all
Each day is a blessing but also a thief
We live and don’t have to pretend
We dance on a blue moon husband and wife
Lovers in love ‘til the end
Forever’s my promise, My Friend
